NNA – On the occasion of Christmas, the “Lebanese Forces” party held a recital in Maarab entitled “Lebanon that was struck a thousand times, tries a thousand times to be reborn – Pope John Paul II”, organized by the Party’s Activities Committee and performed by the Levanos band led by Nisreen Al Hosni, in Party leader Samir Geagea and his wife, Representative Strida, were present, in addition to members of the “Strong Republic” bloc, Secretary General Emile Moukarzel, assistant secretaries and members of the Central Council.
After the recital, which included classic Gregorian songs and hymns, Geagea delivered a speech in which he said: “If God is with us, who is against us? This is our faith and this is the pillar of our steadfastness. As every year, we meet to live joy despite sadness, hope despite pain, love despite hatred, and truth despite Denial. We meet to live the resistance with spirit, heart, and action, despite injustice, domination, and attempts to subdue.
He added, “It is not a coincidence that we and all those who believe in the Lebanon of the homeland, the Lebanon of freedom, dignity, pride, vigor and partnership, will remain in this land celebrating. Rather, we insist on celebrating Christmas. Every holiday passes by us, because we assure those who try to subjugate us that many empires and great powers tried before it.” They were small and did not succeed, and this time also they will not be able to, as we are children of hope, and all of us, as Lebanese, face oppression. Therefore, “our salvation is but one, and our loaf is one.”
He continued: “It is not a coincidence that we meet every year on this blessed occasion to reassure all those who are afraid, by saying: Do not be afraid, for we are together until the end of time, and we turn to those of little faith to say: We are here, remaining and rooted, stay with us because in the end, “it is too long.” “Only the right thing is right.”
He said: “At the time of Christmas, the time of joy and hope, our journey continues without interruption, and with constant renewal, leading to the resurrection, the resurrection of Lebanon. Today we are living in a great and bitter confrontation between the Lebanon that we know and want and the Lebanon that we do not know and do not want. It takes faith and a long breath.” and “Ana Yahn”.
He added, “Our strength lies in our faith and our right to live as we see fit, and not as someone else deems appropriate for us. Lebanon today is like Bethlehem at the time of Christmas: a small crib with a small child, poor, cold, homeless and persecuted by Herod, with the only difference being that we are an entire people.” Poor, cold, homeless and persecuted by the likes of Herod, but with all this, this child did not surrender, even if he feared and prayed, but he faced death and triumphed in the end.
And he continued, “We will not lose hope, despite the large number of Herodians and Pharisees. We cling to hope until the end of black projects and the end of evil. We are also steadfast in our principles and our faith in God, man and Lebanon, because this is our homeland and” no one takes it away from us. “
And he added, “No terror or intimidation prevents us from living happily, nor a massive explosion that sowed death and destruction that made us abandon Beirut, the icon of truth, and Lebanon, the bastion of dignity and freedoms. Nor will abuse of justice prevent us from betting on truth and justice.”
He said: “Evil is present and will continue to try to dominate, but we are always on the lookout. “The power of right prevails over the right of force.” It destroys while we build, it disperses and we collect, because we are steadfast no matter how severe the storms are. What we learned more than two thousand years ago, and we will remain, because “if the Lord is with us, who is against us?” Lebanon, which was struck a thousand times, is trying a thousand times to be reborn.
And he turned to the Lebanese, saying: “In the name of my wife, Strida, and in my own name, I wish you all a thousand good and blessings.”
