National News Agency – Salam Abdel Samad, a lecturer in Canada on the mechanism for recovering looted funds

NNA – The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Lebanon Organization, Dr. Salam Abdel Samad, gave a lecture to talk about the recovery of looted funds, funds smuggled outside Lebanon and the mechanism for recovering funds seized in banks, at the invitation of the Canadian Druze Association.

He talked about similar experiences that some countries, such as Tunisia, Egypt, and Uzbekistan, went through in the Druze house in Toronto – Canada, and in front of personalities from the Lebanese and Arab communities.

He also raised the issue of the Special Anti-Corruption Court, the recovery of looted funds, and the necessity of implementing the Anti-Money Laundering Law, specifically in terms of implementing the articles related to the Special Investigation Commission.

Abdel Samad presented an “self-criticism that dealt with the issue of the revolution in Lebanon,” and made some suggestions in order to achieve reforms in the state. He spoke about the abolition of sectarianism, the establishment of a new law for parties and the law of administrative decentralization.

Finally, I announce the ongoing work to launch the “Lebanese Organization for Peace Building and Sustainable Development” soon.
