National Parks Authority-Nonghyup Bank, carbon neutrality and support for the underprivileged

Promotion of ‘Wedding in the Forest’ to provide preferential interest rates and support for the underprivileged when volunteering at national parks

[에너지데일리 조남준 기자] The National Park Service (Chairman: Song Hyeong-geun) under the Ministry of Environment and NH Nonghyup Bank (CEO Kwon Jun-hak) will sign a business agreement to jointly promote carbon neutrality and support for the vulnerable at the Nonghyup Bank headquarters (located in Seodaemun, Seoul) on the afternoon of the 7th. .

This MOU was prepared to promote various cooperative projects worthy of ‘Environmental, Social and Transparent Management (ESG)’ by utilizing the common point that both organizations play an important role in revitalizing the local community and economy.

In response, the two organizations plan to launch the Nonghyup Bank savings account on the 27th, which gives preferential interest rates for national park visits and volunteer activities.

17 mountain-type national parks across the country, including Seoraksan and Jirisan, are eligible to apply. You may be eligible for an additional preferential interest rate.

The two organizations will jointly promote the ‘wedding wedding in the forest of a national park’.

‘Wedding in the Forest of National Parks’, which has been conducted since last year, is a project to provide a national park as a wedding venue in nature for the vulnerable, such as multicultural families and low-income families, who could not hold their wedding due to social distancing.

Last year, 27 newlyweds from multicultural and vulnerable groups held their wedding ceremony in 10 national parks across the country.

To provide opportunities to more vulnerable groups this year, Nonghyup Bank raises a business fund, and the National Park Service recruits the vulnerable to support weddings.

The two organizations believe that this agreement has provided a model for new ‘environmental, social, and transparent management (ESG)’ cooperation by linking public and financial institutions with their respective businesses, and will continue to promote various projects for a sustainable cooperative relationship. Is expected.

Song Hyeong-geun, chairman of the National Park Service, said, “The National Park Service has set the goal of ‘environmental, social and transparent management (ESG)’ since 2021, and is practicing carbon neutrality and revitalization of the local economy through cooperation with various companies.” “Through this cooperative relationship with Nonghyup Bank, we will do our best so that many people can sympathize with the precious value of the national park,” he said.
