DFB star Günter is confused with Flick!
What a wild press conference!
Yesterday evening the German team started preparing for the World Cup at the Sultan Kabus Stadium in Muscat.
Then, in front of national coach Hansi Flick (57), Freiburg defender Christian Günter (29) answered questions from the reporters at the press conference – and was really surprised with two questions.

First a microphone is missing – then the interpreter for the questions of the Arab colleagues. There’s a lot going on at the German national team’s press conference before the friendly match against Oman.
Press spokeswoman Franziska Wülle sits on the podium and right in the middle asks those responsible: “Don’t we have an interpreter?” The dry answer: “He left.” The background was that he didn’t speak German.
Wülle jumps in as an interpreter himself, with Flick and Füllkrug a person responsible sits on the podium and translates from Arabic to English.
And then a journalist from Oman suddenly confused DFB professional Günter with the national coach, addressing him as “Coach”. He wanted to know from the alleged national coach why he had chosen Oman as a target for preparation and which players he knew. Like press spokeswoman Wülle, Günter is briefly confused, then replies with “Unfortunately not.”

A little later, Flick also appears on the podium and talks about his wobbly stars: In addition to Müller, defense chief Antonio Rüdiger (29/hip problems) was also absent – he too should train with the team on Saturday at the latest. Frankfurt’s Mario Götze (30) and Freiburg’s Günter and Matthias Ginter (28) were rested after the league games on Sunday.
