After twenty years, the renaturation of the Aire is finally complete
The project, awarded internationally, has given a natural face to the river. But it still suffers from regular pollution and struggles to repopulate with fish.
Twenty three years. This is the time it will have taken to complete the Aire renaturation project, from its beginnings to the completion of its fourth and final stage, a one-kilometre stretch between the village of Certoux and the French border. It was inaugurated on Monday in front of several dozen people, elected cantonal and municipal officials, civil servants, engineers, fishermen and other environmental defenders.
