The 15th Congress of New Democracy started today in a pleasant atmosphere, but also with a pre-election air, at Zappeio Megaro.
A Congress with an anniversary character, as this year marks 50 years since the founding of the party.
Dozens of citizens, members of the New Democracy party and not only gathered at Zappeio Megaro this afternoon, while the Prime Minister’s speech started at 20:00 pm, it gave the pulse of the European elections that are approaching and is expected to remind everyone of many points of this faction in these 50 years.

Among those present at Zappeio Megaro, were the Commander of the 6th Ministry of Health, Giannis Karvelis and the Director of the Karamandan Pediatric Hospital, Aspasia Rigopoulou.
At a difficult moment for the government, with many open issues, the opportunity to rally the members of the faction will be given to New Democracy, which is organizing its 15th Congress that starts today at Zappeio Megaro.

In his speech, the prime minister and president of New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, spoke about the European elections, he referred to the police and “taxis”, which, as he said, if necessary, the patrol car will become a taxi for the safety of the citizens, while there was no shortage of shots towards the opposition and especially SYRIZA, referring to the president of the party, Stefanos Kasselakis, describing him as the “imported leader”, while closing his speech, he gave the message for victory in the European elections for New Democracy.
“Against us is an imported leader who insults democracy and institutions by speaking with audacity and without electoral experience, leaving hints of fraud” he said of the President of SYRIZA Stefanos Kasselakis, criticizing his recent statements, while also accusing him of excuse making.
“Wanting to outdo even his predecessor, he promises benefits from the old left tree of SYRIZA, which seems not to have dried up yet.”
“We will turn all of Greece blue again in the European elections” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at the beginning of his speech while receiving warm applause. “The flame of the blue torch burns in our hearts and illuminates tomorrow” he added.
“There will be many things that marked everyone’s path. For me, the thoughts and advice I heard from Pavlos Bakoyannis had a great influence on me”…
“In the first four years we were faced with huge obstacles… And yet! Within 4 years, the national route changed, putting Greece on a path of progress for good” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Greece of 2024 is starting to approach the advanced countries of Europe, the Prime Minister said.

For national issues
“We respond to the hollow words of so-called patriots with actions. With a bold plan for the armed forces of 2030. Also dynamic diplomacy makes decisive agreements with neighbors and limits the influence of those who question our national rights.
“Talking about homeland and religion while selling wax ointments and supposed manuscripts of Christ constitutes an act of maximum political deception” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis meaningfully.
“Our party is a popular and social party, focusing on each individual citizen”.
“Yes, the ND is the only real faction of all Greek women and all Greeks.”

“Reforms are pissing off some… They will continue”
“The pathogens of so many decades must be uprooted by our second term… The reforms upset some but will favor the many and that’s why they will continue.”
The start of the work of the Conference will be announced by the president of the Organizing Committee, Yiannis Plakiotakis, tomorrow the speech of the general director of the ND, Yiannis Smyrlis, and of the Parliamentary Group, Stavros Kalafatis, will take place.
During the work, representatives of the European People’s Party and the European Parliament, as well as parties, will address a greeting.
