Need for Speed: Unbound: This is how many players the PvP mode supports

After the official announcement of Need for Speed: Unbound a few days ago, more and more information about the racer is coming to the public. This time it’s about the PvP mode of the title.

The new one will appear later this year Need for Speed: Unbound, which continues to focus on illegal street racing. Compared to the last predecessors like Need for Speed: Heat there will definitely be some innovations.

Criterion Games has now announced more details about the new title via a blog entry and is dedicated to PvP multiplayer, among other things. Races will allow players to compete against each other online; Corresponding lobbies should be able to consist of up to 16 players. This in turn is a significant improvement compared to Payback, for example, because only online lobbies with up to 8 players were supported there.

At the same time, however, the size of a group is reduced to 4 players; the group size is half that of Need for Speed: Heat. Players within a group can also keep to themselves and race online, so they don’t have to compete with other players on the server. However, this has one advantage: you can increase your cash supply much faster by online races against other gamers.

Why is this merit necessary? As Criterion Games explains further, you can redeem cash as entry fee for the Weekly Qualifiers. In a way, these are the entry and qualifying races for a larger tournament called “The Grand”.

Need for Speed: Unbound will be released on December 2, 2022 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The new part of the series is already controversial in the community, above all for its sometimes comic-like graphics.
