Netflix Cancels Time Travel Series 1899

1899, directed by Sesham Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Freese, is no longer a sequel to the worldwide hit time travel thriller Dark, released on Netflix. The first series premiered on November 12. It was also announced that the series would have a second and third season. Baron Boy announced the end of the series through social media.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have to tell you that the 1899 series is not being renewed. This incredible journey could have been completed in season two and three as it did in ‘Darky’. But sometimes things don’t go as we think. That’s life. We know this will disappoint hundreds of thousands of fans. But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of this amazing adventure. We love you. I will never forget.” – Baron Bo noted.

1899 was a period mystery horror thriller series. The film tells the story of European immigrants who embark on a ship from London to New York and encounter some unexpected problems during the journey.

The general opinion was that the making quality of the series was good but it was dark in terms of content. It is also heard that Netflix has also shown no interest in proceeding with further seasons that have invested heavily.
