Neuralink, quadriplegic patient plays chess with his mind thanks to a chip –

Neuralink placed its first brain implant on a 29-year-old man. His name is Noland Arbaugh and he became quadriplegic due to an accident while diving in a lake. The tool created by the US company, founded by Elon Musk, allows him to play chess or Civilization, his favorite video game, but also to take Japanese and French lessons and control a computer mouse by himself. “I love playing chess and this is one of the things you allowed me to do that I wasn’t able to do in recent years. I had to use a stick for my mouth but now I can do it with my brain,” the boy said in a video published on YouTube by Neuralink. Engineer Bliss Chapman was also with him. “You can see the cursor move around the screen. I do it, it’s cool.” “One of the first times you gave me complete control I stayed up until 6 in the morning, playing Civilization 6.” “Now I’m telekinetic, it’s cool, it’s really cool, me and my friends are excited,” the 29-year-old further said. “There is still a lot of work to do but it has already changed my life. And I think that people who are thinking regarding taking part in human trials or finding a way to help, to do their part…this It’s the reason I decided to participate. Because I just wanted to help, I wanted to be part of something that I feel will change the world.”
