After more than two years, the iMac finally updated today in the special event “Scary fast” from Apple — and it arrives with more news internally than externally.

As the previous model had already been completely redesigned, the new iMac (the second generation with Apple’s proprietary chip) does not have as many surprises in terms of design. In this sense, we have the same 4.5K Retina display with support for True Tone, 500 nits of shine and P3 color space.

The chassis also has the same shape, with the infamous “chin” at the bottom that houses the system. six speakers high-fidelity and woofers with force cancellation, maintaining the incredible thickness of 11,5mm.

As for inputs, the new iMac even has four USB-C portsincluding duas Thunderbolt and, like the previous model, the power cord’s power adapter has a built-in Ethernet port on some models. Another aspect that has been maintained is the 1080p FaceTime HD camera.

In its depths, Apple’s all-in-one desktop, whose previous model was equipped with Apple’s first processor (M1), now comes with the chip M3 — the first produced using a 3 nanometer process, just like the A17 Pro.

Specifically, the new processor has a CPUCentral processing unitor central processing unit.”>1 8 cores (4 performance and 4 efficiency) and GPUGraphics processing unitor graphics processing unit.”>2 of up to 10 cores, plus a Neural Engine 16 cores.

As for memory, the new iMac still starts at a measly 8GB and can be configured with memory options 16GB e 24GB. Internal storage, in turn, can be configured with up to 2TB (with options for 256GB, 512GB e 1TB).

Furthermore, we are talking about the same machine that we already knew, with a few more new features such as Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E, in blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange and purple.

Accessories

Contrary to what was expected, Apple maintained the Lightning connector in its accessories and peripherals, including the Magic Mouseo Magic Trackpad and the Magic Keyboard.

In the case of the new iMac, it comes with a Magic Keyboard (with Touch ID in the mid-range and high-end versions) and a Magic Mouse in the machine’s colors. The Magic Trackpad, in turn, can be purchased separately.

Pricing

The new iMac will be available from R$14,500 in Brazil, €1,630 in Portugal e US$1,300 in the United Stateswith availability starting today in some countries.
