With the endowment ready in its different rooms and the trained staff For the provision of a quality service, the Mayor Jaime Pumarejo Heins confirmed that the Animal Welfare Center of Barranquilla, located on the road that leads to the corregimiento of Juan Mina is about to open its doors to serve the animals in vulnerable situations.
The district president together with the Secretary of Government, Jeniffer Villarreal, confirmed that the next June 23 will start the operation of this important space.
The president of the Barranquilleros said that “We are very happy because after a very rigorous construction process, having provided the best veterinary technology, we will be opening this center very soon, which will be a benchmark on the Atlantic coast, and the most important thing is that we will work hand in hand with the animal community to provide the necessary services. Very soon Barranquilla will have its CBA, fulfilling what was promised and putting it at the service of all Barranquillas”.
He Animal Welfare Center is a building of 3,100 square meters that will provide health care and shelters to attend up to 700 animals simultaneously, in between felines and canines, along with 3 stalls for horses.
It will also offer different services such as cveterinary clinics, waiting areas, basic health care, sterilization, clinical laboratory tests for diagnostic support, it will have spaces for surgeries, maternity, hospitalization, deworming and vaccination.
This complex will guarantee comprehensive care and care for animals in vulnerable conditions, while promote the protection and care of these animals through a civic culture in which dignified treatment of animals prevails.
The Secretary of Government stated that the completion of this work and its prompt start-up represents “a dream of many Barranquilleros who hoped to have our Animal Welfare Center. A place to provide the care and recovery that these animals need so much. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of adoption and responsible pet ownership.”
