Opening a retail storefront on West Avenue in downtown North Augusta, sisters Stefanie Jaworski and Kelli Evans have established their children’s boutique, Honey and the Hedge, following a summer transition from online and regional market sales.
The business occupies a small white house that drew the co-owners to the downtown district after operating previously across the CSRA. “Bringing something to North Augusta just felt right,” Jaworski said, noting that the location “sealed the deal” because “we’re in a place of community.”
The grand opening took place on Oct. 29 with support from North Augusta Forward, alongside neighboring business owners Jenny and Jesse Elliott of Shoppe 3130 and their daughter Rachel, who provided Sweet Racie’s Italian Ice. The entrepreneurial venture grew out of a family connection sparked when Evans became a mother, combining Jaworski’s retail background with Evans’ profession as a Nurse Practitioner.
Retail Offerings and Monogram Bar
Honey and the Hedge stocks apparel for newborns up to size 9-10. A core feature of the storefront is its monogram bar, supported by embroidery equipment and training the sisters acquired over the past year.
The embroidery service extends beyond garments to include custom tote bags, tablescapes, and gifting items. “We just have a passion for a different experience,” Jaworski said. “When we walk into boutiques, we have that very high expectation of what that looks like, and we wanted to be able to provide that and a really high-touch service to our customers.”
Family-Focused Store Design
To accommodate parents, the co-owners integrated a dedicated sensory play area within the shop. Evans noted that creating a welcoming environment for shoppers with young children was a central goal of their layout.
Operating out of the house at 508 West Ave., the boutique maintains regular weekly hours while continuing to fill its various rooms with inventory following its July soft opening.
