Due to data lag, the government announced today that 76 patients died between February 24 and March 4, aged 24 to 105.

The HA released the information on the younger deceased:

The 35-year-old female patient: had long-term illness and kidney disease. She was found to be positive for the new crown at the Prince of Wales Hospital. Her condition deteriorated and her death was postponed to March 5.

A 47-year-old female patient: bedridden for a long time, her condition worsened after contracting the virus, and her death was delayed until March 5.

51-year-old male patient: Suffering from terminal cancer, he was admitted to the A&E Department of Guanghua Hospital on February 24 due to his poor health. He was later admitted to the hospital and passed away on March 5.

A 52-year-old female patient: Inpatient, she was admitted to the A&E Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital on February 26 with fever and shortness of breath. She was later admitted to the hospital and passed away on March 5.

56-year-old male patient: Inpatient, he was admitted to the A&E Department of Pok Oi Hospital on February 23 due to shortness of breath and cough. He was later admitted to the hospital and passed away on March 5.

A 59-year-old female patient, with a mental illness background, was admitted to the A&E Department of Tuen Mun Hospital on March 4 due to fever and shortness of breath. She was subsequently admitted to the hospital and passed away on March 5.

4 The death was reported by the mortuary of the Department of Health

Au Ka-wing, chief physician of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Centre for Health Protection, said that 4 deaths were reported by the mortuary of the Department of Health, involving 2 men and 2 women, aged 56 to 89, who were not admitted to hospital. The dates of death were February 23 and 27. And on the 28th, 3 of them had long-term illnesses themselves.

Fifth wave to date 1794 dead

As of yesterday, there were 1,794 deaths in the fifth wave, with a fatality rate of 0.39%, aged between 11 months and 108 years, with a median of 85 years. 1538 cases were chronically ill; 1047 were hospitalized, accounting for 58% of all deaths.

Age of death case:

4 cases were children, all under the age of 10;

89 cases were between 18 and 59 years old, accounting for 4.96% of the total deaths;

1,696 cases were aged 60 or above, accounting for 94.5% of the total deaths, of which 1,227 were aged 80 or above, accounting for 68.4% of the total deaths;
