The price of fuel at the pump continues its downward trend. A further decrease was recorded this Sunday, August 14 at Winxo service stations. Other distributors will soon follow.
Good news for motorists. The expected drop in fuel prices began this Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Winxo service stations, which lowered the price of diesel by 0.48 dirhams per liter, i.e. a sale price of 14.40 dirhams. Gasoline fell by 0.35 dirhams to stand at 15.09 dirhams.
From tomorrow, Monday August 15, the price of a liter of diesel should drop, overall, between 0.48 dirham and 1.01 dirham at other distributors, according to data collected by Le360 from the National Federation of owners, traders and managers of service stations in Morocco (FNPCGS).
The price of gasoline will have to drop between 0.35 dirhams and 0.75 dirhams, to drop below the 15 dirhams mark at some distributors.
In detail, the price of a liter of diesel will have to drop by 1.01 dirhams at the service stations of the Afriquia group to stand at 13.88 dirhams in Casablanca. The drop will be 0.98 dirhams on the side of Shell stations, the liter of diesel will thus sell at 14.06 dirhams.
For gasoline, the reduction announced in the service stations of the Afriquia and Shell group is 0.75 dirham for a selling price of 14.68 dirhams per liter at Afriquia in Casablanca and 14.87 dirhams in Shell stations.
The other distributors have not yet specified the level of the expected drop. Fuel prices at gas stations in other cities of the Kingdom are even higher due to the cost of transportation.
This new announced drop in prices at the pump follows the decline in oil prices on the international market in recent weeks. The barrel of Brent from the North Sea traded at 98.01 dollars, this Sunday August 14, 2022, the barrel of American West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded at 91.88 dollars.
