New feature is available for PS5 starting today

From today you can also participate in official tournaments on the PlayStation 5. So you can now fight for prizes on the latest Sony console.

After three months in beta, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that tonight’s PlayStation tournaments will launch on the PlayStation 5.

Big challenges with rich rewards

The aim is to improve the experience of action-packed games “with shorter tournament times, seamless console login, tournaments that are easy to find, a redesigned user interface, real-time game notifications and other improvements”.

The first official tournaments offered will be Guilty Gear – Strive, NBA 2K23 and FIFA 23, allowing players to play for prizes in a variety of special events, challenges and leaderboard competitions. Win-A-Thon on PS5 and PS4 can win cash, PS5 consoles and even the DualSense Edge wireless controller.

But what features do PlayStation tournaments actually bring to PlayStation 5?

According to the official PlayStation Blog, players will be offered a simple discovery process, fast console login, a tournament tree cap, more tournaments, a redesigned user interface and automatic real-time results display. A new Discord server for PlayStation tournaments will also be launched so players can socialize as well. There you can also experience interviews as well as game sessions with important personalities from the eSports scene.
