New heavy combat equipment spotted in Russia | Business

The short footage captured near the Uralvagonzavod training ground, where Russia’s T-72, T-90 and T-14 Armata tanks are manufactured, has sparked interest and speculation among defense analysts.

This tracked combat vehicle is similar to the T-15, but has a different tracked base with only six undercarriage wheels per side – unlike the T-15’s undercarriage on the Armata platform.

It is likely that the development of this new armored vehicle was motivated by the need to mass-produce heavy combat vehicles to supply the Russian military. Armored vehicles face many threats on the battlefield, and heavy armor can provide much-needed crew protection.

The choice of the T-72 chassis reflects the Russian defense industry’s focus on cost-effectiveness, expandability and easy maintenance in the face of ongoing economic challenges.

“Given the current state of the Russian defense industry, the choice of the T-72 platform makes sense,” said the military analyst.

According to him, it allows for simpler manufacturing and maintenance processes, while providing the necessary protection in combat scenarios.

The arrival of this new infantry fighting vehicle underscores Russia’s ongoing efforts to improve its armored fleet in line with the needs of modern warfare.
