NEW HYPERBARIC MEDICINE ROOM AT BOULOGNE HOSPITAL

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

The mayor of San Isidro, Gustavo Posse, inaugurated a hyperbaric medicine room at the Ciudad de Boulogne Municipal Hospital. It is a piece of equipment to increase the concentration of oxygen in the blood and treat neurodegenerative diseases, carbon monoxide poisoning, gangrene and diabetes, among other pathologies.

“Having this hyperbaric chamber in a municipal public health system fills us with pride because it means improving the quality of life of our neighbors. Health is a priority, which is why we are going to continue adding new technologies in our three hospitals,” said Posse.

Currently, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a fundamental (non-invasive) tool in the recovery of patients with different diseases. This is equipment donated by councilor Fabiana Rosasco, which is rare in the public sector.

The Secretary of Public Health of the Municipality, Juan Viaggio, recalled that this hyperbaric treatment was successfully implemented at the Central Hospital of San Isidro during the pandemic as part of a global research study to reduce the inflammatory reaction caused by Covid-19.

The new sector of hiberbaric medicine bears the name of “Sala Profesor Dr. Sebastián AM Rosasco Palau”.
