In the last quarter, solutions focused on data security and high performance were made available for the cloud regions available in the country

Microsoft Azure continues to advance its solution offerings in cloud regions in Brazil to help companies and professionals face their business challenges. Between January and March 2024, new solutions were added to offer greater flexibility to developers and IT teams, as well as keep company data secure. The solutions are part of a growing suite of cloud services available on-premises.

Among the additions, Azure now offers powerful virtual machines especially suited to the needs of developers, helping them speed up work while keeping costs under control. Furthermore, premium storage and backup solutions between different regions will ensure that companies operating in Brazil are always prepared for possible threats. Check out the highlights:

Microsoft Dev Box – The developer’s workstation in the cloud: The Dev Box was made available in the Brazil South region. With this new offering, developers can have access to pre-configured virtual computers in line with their projects, reducing the time needed to carry out their tasks. What used to take days, using this solution can be done in just a few minutes.

Dev Box also offers integration with Microsoft Intune, allowing organizations to protect cloud workstations in the same way as conventional physical workstations. Furthermore, Microsoft Dev Box has performance for the most demanding tasks, allows simultaneous deployment or even hibernate to control costs. Learn more about the tool in this link.

Azure Backup support for Virtual Machines with SSD Premium v2 and Ultra disk: We know the importance of protecting company assets. That’s why we’ve made it possible to enable Azure Backup on Azure VMs using SSD Premium v2 and Ultra Disk. This offering provides the most advanced block storage solution ever designed for a wide range of input-output (I/O)-intensive enterprise production workloads that require sub-millisecond disk latencies as well as high input and output operations per second (IOPS) and throughput — all at a low cost.

With SSD Premium V2, you can meet the demands of large production workloads such as – SQL Server, Oracle, MariaDB, SAP, Cassandra, Mongo DB, big data, analytics, gaming, in virtual machines or stateful containers , at a better cost-benefit than the traditional Premium SSD. This way, the IT team can ensure business continuity for their virtual machines and still recover from any disasters or ransomware attacks. know more in this link.

Support for cross-region restore for PostgreSQL backups: To minimize outage scenarios, Azure Backup now allows cross-region restore of PostgreSQL backups by adding an extra paired Azure region through Geo-Redundant Storage (GRS) to protect your backups against regional outages. Additionally, unlike conventional solutions, cross-region restore allows you to access and perform restores from secondary region recovery points even when no outage occurs in the primary region. Thus, it is possible to run tests to assess regional resilience. know more in this link.
