The political world is in turmoil even during the holidays as the New Reform Party, led by co-representatives Lee Jun-seok and Lee Nak-yeon, has succeeded in establishing the so-called ‘big tent’ in the third zone.

The New Reform Party is confident that it will exceed the number of seats held by the Green Justice Party next week, and is confident of securing ‘number 3’ and even forming a negotiating group before the election.

The major political parties, both ruling and opposition parties, are trying to downplay the meaning but are not hiding their caution.

The New Reform Party has already secured 4 seats through a surprise merger declaration on the first day of the holiday.

He said two or three active members are expected to join next week, and he is optimistic about securing ‘Symbol Number 3’ for the district.

By recruiting candidates who were eliminated from the Democratic Party and People Power Party nominations, the number of seats will increase to more than 20, making it possible to form a negotiating group before registering candidates next month.

“If you are a sufficiently capable person in a political conflict situation but are excluded, I think we can accept it more comfortably.”

In order to continue the momentum of ‘Big Tent’ integration and at the same time maximize the party’s votes for proportional seats, influential candidates must run for office in their constituencies and make a splash.

Therefore, the New Reform Party is also considering a plan to have Lee Jun-seok and Lee Nak-yeon run for office in Daegu and Gwangju, respectively.

“In the constituency, we will discover and run for good candidates who will break the two-party monopoly politics on a large scale. This is the biggest reason for the decision to unify now…”

As the third zone unites under a single banner two months before the general election, the two major political parties, both ruling and opposition parties, are trying to downplay the meaning, but are secretly wary.

The People Power Party emphasized that it was a merger through election engineering, saying, “It is a party formed by people with different political backgrounds ahead of the general election.”

“I can’t help but have some doubts about whether this is pure and its intention.”

There was a series of criticisms, such as “a hasty merger without asking or questioning anything” and “a political party made up of all sorts of forces,” but there was also a prediction that “there is a chance of success because we have representative Lee Nak-yeon, who is a presidential candidate.”

In the Democratic Party, Jin Seong-jun, a pro-Lee Jae-myung faction member, brought up the provisions of the Political Party Act and tried to keep them in check.

Rep. Jin said, “The name of the party, New Reform Party, is an absorption party,” and “No matter what anyone says, the lawmakers who left the party, including Representative Lee Nak-yeon, were absorbed into Lee Jun-seok,” he said.
