Greatly improved basic performance

The first model of the Subaru XV is the Impreza XV, which appeared in 2010. Nonetheless, this model is an Impreza 5-door decorated like an SUV, and the basic specifications such as minimum ground clearance are the same as the Impreza. It was undeniable that it was a little unsatisfactory as it was a derivative model.
Subaru XV changed from the second generation. Despite using the body shell of the Impreza, the minimum ground clearance is 200mm, which is the largest in its class, and it has excellent drivability suitable for an SUV. This route matched the needs for a simple SUV, and the 3rd generation of the conventional model has become recognized as an SUV that represents Subaru.
The new Subaru XV, which will be introduced as the Crosstrek, has undergone steady evolution while following the concept of the second and subsequent generations.
The basic skeleton structure inherits the 3rd generation of the conventional model. Of course, it does not mean that it is used as it is, and improvements have been made everywhere.
Among them, EyeSight, which has become synonymous with Subaru’s safety, cannot be overlooked. A new stereo camera with a wide angle of view and extended detection distance is adopted, and a wide-angle monocular camera is also added. The collision avoidance ability is improved by improving the sensing function.
On the other hand, packaging is inherited even if it becomes Crosstrek. Because it uses the body shell of the Impreza, even with a minimum ground clearance of 20mm, the overall height is the lowest among SUVs, and the interior height is also the smallest among SUVs. Easy to get on and off, easy to get a feel for the vehicle, and easy to handle.
It can be said that the real thrill of an SUV is weak except for the ability to travel on rough roads, but if you want cabin utility and a high eye point, you can choose the Forester. Become Crosstrek unique.
I don’t know the details of the driving performance because I haven’t taken a test drive yet, but the all-road performance that adds rough and off-road to town & touring, which is a characteristic of XV, will definitely be a highlight.
The domestic specification model released this time is a 2ℓ e-BOXER model, but it seems that multiple powertrains will be set for each destination overseas.
There is no announcement that the domestic specification model will be exclusive to the e-BOXER model, and there is a possibility that another powertrain will be added at the time of the official announcement or after next year.
