The company Swiss Advanced Vision (SAV-IOL SA) announced the launch of new features for its toric calculator that enhance the overall calculation experience. For the first time, ophthalmologists will be able to use a web-based configurator to help define the best incision location to minimize post-surgical residual astigmatism based on the patient’s optical parameters. And this, for all types of lenses.

A SAV-IOL toric calculator facilitates the selection of toric intraocular lenses that help correct astigmatism, a widespread eye condition that causes blurred vision, discomfort and possible headaches.

Alongside the unique incision site optimization tool that indicates at which incision angle residual astigmatism can decrease (based on biometrics, keratometry, cylinder power and SIA amplitude), PCA can now be included in the calculation that increases the postoperative predictability. It is important to note that this service is available free of charge at sav-iol.com.

The launch of new features continues to support SAV-IOL’s reputation as a company whose products are built on innovation, quality and precision. Alexandre Pascarella, CEO of Swiss Advanced Vision said: “By continually adapting our products and services, we are able to offer ophthalmic surgeons and their patients a relevant response to their evolving needs.”

Since 2009, the Swiss company has been developing IOLs (intraocular lenses) with the aim of restoring the missing accommodation left by the removal of natural lenses. Swiss Advanced Vision is known for its unique optical technology, called “Instant Focus”, which enables the creation of a constant peak of light intensity on the retina, providing continuous vision at near and intermediate distances.

The lenses You shine e EDEN, through Instant Focus technology, were designed to offer patients suffering from cataracts a high-quality solution for the recovery of continuous vision with minimized dysphotopsia while preserving resolution and contrast sensitivity. All lenses are available in standard and toric versions with an outer diameter of 10.8 mm or 12.4 mm. Swiss Advanced Vision will maintain the pace of developing innovative products and is already working on new features for its users. Stay tuned!
