His suspicious movements and inappropriate behavior had worried the residents of Stomio of Larissa. An anonymous complaint reached the Smile of the Child and from there the authorities began to investigate whether the father was abusing his 4-year-old child.
“The child cannot have imagined all of this, put it out of his mind. We didn’t fall from the clouds, he was behaving strangely. I want to protect my child and will take every legal step to do so. The child is now with me and is safe. Justice now has the floor. He was remanded in custody and is safe where he is,” said the mother of the 4-year-old.
The 4-year-old girl was examined by a child psychologist, and there the horror she lived while in her father’s hands was revealed. She talked about the indecent acts he made her do, with the 47-year-old denying everything.
Larisa: “We saw his wife with blood on her face”
The LIVE NEWS camera and Angelos Lampidis were in the village where the 47-year-old lived. There, with the testimonies of the residents, the tangle begins to unravel. His behavior towards his 4-year-old daughter was something that troubled them. He had been seen in the winter taking off the child’s clothes and bathing him outside in the playground with the hose.
“The gentleman took a bottle of dishwashing soap and put it on his child’s head and took the hose from the playground and washed it in October. That’s where I got curious that the man is not standing, he has a problem”, said Nikolaos Samaras, president of the local community of Stomios.
Everyone is talking about an abusive man. They complain that he was beating his wife and they lived in fear that something bad would happen.
“This is a man with criminal behavior towards everyone. The way he treated his wife is an open secret, there are incidents that became public. He even kicked her out of the house with blood on her face. Everyone said that at some point what we hear on TV about the murders of women will happen next to us,” says a testimony.
His wife asked for a divorce to escape. Then, the child custody problems started.
Larisa: “He was chasing us with a knife”
There were not a few times when the 47-year-old created tensions and commotions in the village. He was known to the Authorities and often, according to testimonies, passed without permission.
“He hunted underage children, everything bothered him. He was chasing us with the knife. We expected him to do something bad,” witnesses said.
“He attacked older people, his way out was to attack. Countless times the police came and arrested him, took him inside. Every time something happened with the doctor.”
Despite all this, the 47-year-old defendant was walking around undisturbed.
“He normally practiced the profession of a doctor. He had gone out 1-2 times naked, shouting, shirtless with underwear. They had seen him with a gun, they had also seen him with a knife,” said a resident of the village.
“It’s an open secret that this man was out of control. It has also happened in the village where he lived that he would go out and threaten the children because the commotion bothered him and he went out with sticks to hit them. The parents called the police, he was a very angry person,” says a witness.
The forensic report will shed a lot of light on the case, with the minor girl being monitored by a child psychologist.
