The long-awaited new EA Sports PGA Tour game will be available on March 24. It will include thirty courses, including those for the major tournaments in 2021 and 2022, and, surprise, the Amundi Evian Championship golf course, the Evian Resort Golf Club.
Announced almost two years ago, the new golf game presented by EA Sports is fast approaching. And controller lovers should finally find a worthy successor to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012 : The Mastersreleased at the end of 2011.
More than eleven years later, the mythical course ofAugusta is thus back on a video game in a realism even more real than nature. Appointed EA Sports PGA Tour Road to the Mastersthe game highlights the many obstacles and challenges offered by this mythical course.
30 licensed courses
But’Augusta National isn’t the only licensed gem.
EA Sports PGA Tour will have a total of 30 golf courses and will notably offer the courses of Pebble Beach Golf Links, Southern Hills Country Club, The Old Course de St Andrews, The Country Club, Kiawah Island Golf, Torrey Pines, East, Lake Golf Club, TPC Southwind, The Los Angeles Country Club or even of Wilmington Country Club.
All of the majors for the 2021 and 2022 seasons have been modeled, those for 2023 will be added after the launch of the game.
First French course!
The list does not end there. For the first time, a French course will be present on a video game.
This is theEvian Resort Golf Club. We owe this presence to a partnership with the LPGA which will offer players the opportunity to embody several female stars (Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang…) in addition to male players (Jordan Spieth, Tony Finau…).
A long-term job
EA Sports didn’t just draw the courses; the studio has done a real thorough job to make each golf course a faithful and very immersive representation.
By using state-of-the-art equipment such as drones or helicopters.
More so, the game describes the courses exactly as they appear in reality. Photogrammetry and scanners were also used to give accurate renderings of pavilions or iconic vegetation.
Every detail, like the starting marks, is important.
The teams ofEA Sports also went to meet the field teams of all the golf courses to better immerse themselves and understand the typology of each of them.
Thus, the experience on each golf course is unique: the ball rebounds are precise, the grass is never identical from one course to another, this makes the experience ever more realistic.
At last EA Sports relied on the TrackMan Dates for an even fairer rendering of the ball flight.
On the way to the Masters
The “career” mode offers players a logical progression system to become a true champion. Everyone will be able to create and personalize their golfer, develop their skills to master the 20 types of shots available in order to be able to attack each hole like a pro.

The player will train on major amateur tournaments such as theUS Open Amateur Championship or even theAugusta National Women’s Amateur.
He will be able to perfect his weapons on the Korn Ferry Tour before accessing the biggest events of the PGA Tour and get your hands on the FedEx Cup after the playoffs.
Note that many online tournaments will also be available every week.
EA Sports PGA Tour is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S et PC for pre-order and will be delivered on March 24.
You will have to pay 69,99€ for the classic version and 84,99€ for the Deluxe version which will include access to the game from March 21 and many bonuses.
