In France, 745 cars were burned on New Year’s Eve. The police detained 380 people. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the country’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin on Monday, January 1.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, compared to the previous year, the number of arson and arrests decreased by 10%. On the first night of the year, order in the country was maintained by 90 thousand gendarmes.

In Germany, police also worked all night, detaining 230 people for unauthorized fireworks. At the same time, 15 police officers were injured during the operation to restore public order.

According to the agency, pyrotechnics were launched directly into the crowd at Alexanderplatz. In the Pankiv area, a rocket fired hit an apartment in a residential building, killing a cat.
