FLORHAM PARK — The third professional season of Mekhi Becton with the New York Jets is officially over before it begins.
The starting right tackle was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, thanks to a broken patella in his right knee sustained in practice Aug. 8.
Becton traveled to Los Angeles for a consultation with the Dr. Neal ElAttrachewho handled the quarterback’s knee surgery Zach Wilson to repair his torn meniscus. It is expected that Becton undergo surgery and miss the next season, something that the fans believe Jets will be the case.
