News 24 | The Minister of Health: The privatization projects that were proposed do not exceed 10%..and international alliances entered the sector

Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajil said today (Sunday) that the move by investors from other sectors to invest in the health sector shows the extent of confidence in the sector.

During the World Health Forum held in Riyadh today (Sunday), Al-Jalajel pointed out that international and national alliances have largely entered into the projects proposed through the National Privatization Center, noting that the ministry offered only 10% of the privatization projects in the sector.

He added, according to “Al-Ikhbariya”, that the coming period will witness the announcement of the remaining projects, indicating that the health sector is promising and the number of investors in it is large, whether in partnership with the private sector or direct investment, or the transfer of international companies to their headquarters to the Kingdom.

He revealed that the number of partnership projects with the private sector in health services planned over the next 5 years will exceed 100 projects, explaining that the estimated capital investment opportunities in them by the private sector are estimated at 48 billion riyals.

And he indicated that the partnerships between the public and private sectors included the establishment and operation of two medical cities in the north and south of the Kingdom, the provision of air medical transport services at the level of the Kingdom, and the establishment and operation of 900 beds to provide medical rehabilitation services, in addition to restructuring and improving primary health care services with more than 200 centers, and a partnership X-ray services.

The forum witnessed the signing of a number of agreements in the health field with the aim of enhancing integration and partnership between the public and private sectors.

It is noteworthy that the World Health Forum 2022 will be held this year in its third session, from 9-11 October, under the slogan “Transformation in the Health Sector” at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, with the participation of 112 speakers, including health care professionals and experts from the Kingdom and the world.
