Bernard Bigot, general manager of Iter Organization, the international structure that brings together 35 countries including France for the development of the Iter program, has just died at the age of 72 following an illness. Bernard Bigot who was a researcher, teacher, senior civil servant and administrator of the Atomic Energy Commission, then High Commissioner for Atomic Energy, was a fervent defender of industry and nuclear power. Named to the management of Iter unanimously by the participating countries in 2015, Bernard Bigot was above all a man of science who liked to share knowledge and explain with pedagogy what the work for which he was responsible for consisted of. A demanding and loyal man, those who knew him will also remember his immense modesty.
