Next National Games in Goa says indian olympic association

Ahmedabad: Goa will be the venue for the 37th National Games, says the Indian Olympic Association. The competitions will be held in October next year. The date of next year’s National Games will also be finalized following the final decision on the date of the Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.

Olympic Association Secretary General Rajeev Mehta revealed that Goa has expressed its willingness to host the Games. The Games flag will be handed over to the Goa team at the closing ceremony of the Gujarat National Games to be held in Surat on October 12.

Goa was supposed to host the Games following Kerala hosted them in 2015. It was delayed due to problems in setting up infrastructure. Meanwhile, the future of the Games itself became uncertain with the advent of Covid. Meanwhile, Gujarat has expressed its willingness to host the Games this year. But, now Goa has come forward once more announcing that they are ready for the Games.
