“I’m here tonight with my aunt, who managed to win the battle against the disease, being free for 18 years. I look at the incredible courage she had and also her attitude as she faced it which was an attitude of faith and no fear,” Moore said. She also explained that this thought was contagious and had been a “light” for her throughout her life and career, and was especially important after losing her mother to a brain tumor in 1998.
The famous actress emphasized that she has always felt the need to promote and work with charities that focus on breast cancer and finding a cure.
