Neymar retracts his decision because of Messi’s “joy”.

Brazilian star Neymar hinted that he might participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, stressing that lifting the cup still represents a “big dream” for him, unlike what he previously said that the last World Cup in Qatar would be his last.

Brazil reached the quarter-finals of the last edition before leaving the tournament after losing to Croatia on penalties, and Neymar did not talk about his future after that match, as he was living in a psychological crisis after failing to win the cup.

Neymar did not close the possibility of him continuing with the Brazilian national team until the 2026 World Cup, and he said in statements to the TV channel “TNT Sports” on Monday evening: I will spend year after year and we will see. Of course I have a very big dream, which is to win the World Cup.

Neymar added that he drew inspiration from the success of his colleague in Paris Saint-Germain, the Argentine star Lionel Messi, in winning the World Cup with his country, and Neymar said: Lionel is always a source of inspiration. He always helped and encouraged me.

Neymar participated with the Brazilian national team in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 versions of the World Cup, and was chosen in the perfect squad in the 2014 World Cup.
