NFL Investigating Josh Jacobs Over New Domestic Abuse Claims

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs faces three new domestic abuse allegations from police records released on Friday night, October 30, 2026. The NFL confirmed its ongoing investigation will review the claims, adding pressure on the player following his May arrest and subsequent no-contest plea.

Hobart/Lawrence Police Release Records Detailing New Accusations

Police records released on Friday night, October 30, 2026, revealed that multiple women contacted the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department following a May altercation between Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs and his then-girlfriend. The department made the files public in response to a public records request, disclosing accounts from three additional women who alleged physical abuse during past relationships.

The disclosures compound an already turbulent year for the running back. Jacobs was arrested on May 26, 2026, following a May 23 dispute in which a woman reported he threw her to the ground. That arrest led to charges including battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.

In September, Jacobs pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property.

Accounts From Three Women Span Multiple Years

The newly published police file outlines three separate historical accounts provided by women who stepped forward after learning about the May investigation. The first woman contacted investigators in June 2026, stating that an incident had occurred on January 5, 2022, after she communicated with Jacobs for about six months and spent approximately 11 hours at his residence.

The documentation states that after she refused sexual relations, Jacobs slapped her in the face and tossed her mobile device into a swimming pool. She further claimed he grabbed her by the hair, threw her onto a bed and the floor, pinned her down, and threatened to kill her. Police noted that records from that period indicated responding officers observed no visible signs of injury, bruising or damage consistent with a physical altercation.

A second woman described an altercation in April 2021, alleging that Jacobs had sex with her. A separate female acquaintance recounted connecting with Jacobs via online platforms and noted he arranged her flight to a home in May 2022.

A third woman stated that during a May 2022 visit after meeting through social media, Jacobs placed his hands on her head and neck, dragged her, scratched her chest, and took her phone. She reported sustaining bruising and scratches that remained visible for a month. She did not report the incident at the time because she was not a U.S. citizen and alleged that Jacobs told her she could be deported.

Legal Defense Response and Ongoing NFL Review

Attorneys representing Jacobs — David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld, and Clarence F. Duchac III — issued a public statement addressing the newly disclosed police files.

The Brown County District Attorney’s office had these uncorroborated, old, and previously unreported allegations for months. They conducted their own exhaustive investigation, along with the police department, and the D.A. determined that only two misdemeanor charges were warranted. They then entered into a plea agreement with Josh Jacobs. Josh has repeatedly expressed his remorse and is honoring the terms of the agreement.

A league spokesman confirmed that the NFL’s ongoing probe will evaluate the newly released police records.

Jacobs recently sparked discussion during a Thursday night victory over the Carolina Panthers, scoring two touchdowns and celebrating by placing his hands behind his back. The gesture drew immediate viewer backlash amid his ongoing legal scrutiny, though Jacobs maintained the movement modeled a gospel song titled Break Every Chain.
