Combine, Free Agency, NFL Draft und Traing Camps – the largest sports league in the world does not rest even in the seven-month football break. After the NFL Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February set the course for the upcoming NFL Draft, free agency will begin on March 13th.

From combine to kickoff of the regular season 2023 – the most important Term at a glance:

  • February 21 – March 7: Each team can assign franchise tags and transition tags to their key players with expiring contracts to prevent exit via the upcoming NFL Free Agency.
  • February 28 – March 6: At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the most talented young players demonstrate their skills in various disciplines at Lucas Oil Stadium. With good results, players can increase their value for the draft even more.
  • March 13 – 15: The “unofficial” start of Free Agency 2023 – teams can already negotiate with players whose contracts are expiring. Although the fat deals are already being bagged during this period, they will not be official until the start of the new league year on March 15th.
  • March, 15: The new league year begins at 10 p.m. German time – the “official” start of the 2023 NFL transition period.
  • 3. April: Offseason workouts begin for all teams that have a new head coach. Shortly thereafter, the other teams follow suit.
  • 27. – 29. April: The 2023 NFL Draft will be held in Kansas City.
  • 5. – 8. May or 12. – 15. May: For the rookies freshly selected in the NFL Draft, the maximum three-day mini camps start on one of these two weekends.
  • July: Between the middle and the end of July (exact date is still pending), the NFL Training Camps begin, where players compete for a spot on the final roster for the new season.
  • 3. – 6. August: The 2023 preseason starts with the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.
  • 7. September: Soccer is back! The long wait for NFL fans is over. The new NFL season starts at Arrowhead Stadium of the Kansas City Chiefs. The opponent is not yet known.
