Around 90 passengers were traveling on the bus, including adults and children.
At least 16 people were killed – most of them Venezuelan migrants – and 47 injured in an accident between a bus and two other vehicles, which occurred in the La Cucamonga sector, in the Estelí department of Nicaragua.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of this Wednesday, when the bus – which covered the Managua-Jalapa route in Nicaragua – collided with the two vehicles and plunged into an abyss. The authorities indicated that they were traveling with excessive speed.
According to official media, around 90 passengers were traveling on the bus, including adults and children. They reported that the wounded were taken to the San Juan de Dios hospital in the city of Estelí.
Members of the police and firefighters participated in the rescue work, who were looking for a way to get the victims out of the bus.
The police published a list with the names of the fatal victims, for now only two remain to be identified:
