After a few months without having activity at the club level, goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen smiled again on April 13 when he made his official debut with the Columbus Crew, his team in the MLS league in the United States.

The Guatemalan goalkeeper had not had the opportunity to play an official match since he arrived at the current MLS champion since the goal was well covered, however, during the match against Real Salt Lake on matchday 8 of the season regular American league, Columbus’ starting goalkeeper suffered an injury in the 34th minute.

This incident opened the doors for Hagen’s debut, who responded accordingly and did not allow a goal for the rival team. The score was ultimately a 0-0 draw.

After his debut as a player of The Crew, the same official account of the MLS in Spanish recognized his effort by posting a video with their interventions on social networks.

“A great performance by Guatemalan goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen in his official debut with the @ColumbusCrew shirt,” was what he published on X (formerly Twitter) the MLS account.

The tie allowed Columbus to remain among the first classified in the Eastern Conference of the MLS, for now it is fourth with 13 points in 8 games played.

In first place is Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and are followed by the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia.

The next match on the calendar for Hagen and Columbus will be on Saturday, April 20 when they face the Timbers at home, then they will have the vital semifinal match of the Concacaf Champions Cup against Monterrey on Tuesday the 23rd.
