ACTOR Nicholas Saputra admitted that he had learned many things while filming the latest Viu Original regional drama series entitled Secret Ingredient, which he starred in with Julia Baretto and Lee Sang-heon.
“Working with cast and crew from different cultural backgrounds always brings new color to the process,” said Nicholas Saputra, quoted on Tuesday (30/4)
He added, “(This) is because exchanging ideas and introducing each other’s cultural backgrounds is very refreshing.”
When he was offered to star in the Secret Ingredient series, Nicholas immediately agreed to be involved in it.

For him, working with new people, especially people with different backgrounds, can provide him with new perspectives and experiences.
“Working with new people, with different backgrounds, we can learn from each other,” said the 40 year old man.
During filming, Nicholas saw how cast and crew from other countries worked and tried to learn from them. Starting from discipline, speed, to the accuracy of what they do.

“Each (person) brings their own discipline, for example the crew has different procedures when working,” said Nicholas.
Interestingly, the process of filming Secret Ingredient was also assisted by three translators from three different languages (Indonesian, Tagalog and Korean) so that the shooting could run well.
Even though this series is in English, the production team is still staffed by people from these three countries.

Moreover, director, writer and actor Lee Sang-heon comes from South Korea. Therefore, help from a translator is very necessary to bridge communication between teams and players.
“There are three translators, from Korean to English, Korean to Filipino (Tagalog), and Korean to Indonesian,” he said.
Apart from Nicholas, who learned many new things from this series, one of the other players, Julia Baretto, also learned many things from Nicholas. In fact, Julia praised Nicholas’ attitude and character while filming the Secret Ingredient series.
“He’s very professional, very focused and serious about what he does,” Julia said.
Julia added, “He is very down to earth, very easy and fun to work with.
The latest Viu Original regional drama series entitled Secret Ingredient is ready to be broadcast in 16 countries today, April 30 2024.
The drama Secret Ingredient stars three actors and actresses from across countries, namely Nicholas Saputra (Indonesia), Julia Baretto (Philippines), and Lee Sang-heon (South Korea). (Ant/Z-1)
