Nick Cannon says he would rekindle his relationship with Mariah Carey if their romance “can go back to what it was;”
The 41-year-old TV presenter and singer – with whom he shares 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe – were married from 2008 to 2016, and the TV presenter believes he will “never have a love like the one he had with Mariah”, and claims that their romance was a “fairy tale”.
He said: “I guess it’s because I’m a real romantic, I really believe in love and I let the love capsules be where they are. I’m not a timeline guy. I will never have a love like the one I had with Mariah. »
He added: “It was literally like a fairy tale with Mariah and I prefer to keep it that way. I appreciate that fantasy because if I tried to go back and it wasn’t the same, I’d be like, ‘Damn, I messed it up’. But, if I had the chance, if it could be like before, I would be there. »
But Nick insists he won’t stand in the way of Mariah’s six-year relationship with boyfriend Bryan Tanaka.
He told ‘The Hottee Talk Show Podcast’: “The guy is great with my kids and we have family gatherings and stuff together so I really respect him.
“But come on, it’s my imaginary love. He is someone I will always love. »
In May, Nick said he wasn’t “cut out” for marriage because it didn’t play to his strengths.
Speaking about his marriage to Mariah, he explained, “For me, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and for this to end…why would I go back, if I couldn’t do so that it works well? »
He added, “Once I’ve thrown myself into a script, I’d have to be presented with something that I’ve never seen before, that I’ve never experienced, so that I’m ready to go back and do something like that.”
