Rail traffic at Lausanne station was briefly interrupted on Thursday afternoon due to a power supply fault. Trains can run again from 2:50 p.m.
It was a train traveling on a siding, east of the station, which caused a short circuit by tearing off a line of conduct, said Jean-Philippe Schmidt, spokesman for CFF, contacted by Keystone -ATS.
When the system was reset, a second short circuit occurred, this time on the Renens side. In all, the outage lasted from 2:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. Half an hour during which no train could arrive or depart from Lausanne.
These incidents caused train cancellations and delays. These continued until late afternoon. All lines are concerned, InterCity as well as regional trains.
Several disturbances
Disturbances have accumulated on the Swiss network. Damage to the track blocked the S30s between Payerne and Friborg for several hours. Trains were canceled and delayed between Landquart and Chur due to a power failure.
In the Winthertour region, an incident involving a vehicle also disrupted rail traffic for several hours. In all three cases, a replacement service by bus has been set up.
