Aniplex Online Fest 2022, which debuted today (24th), announced that the TV animation adaptation of “NieR: Automata” will be broadcast in January 2023, and at the same time released the first wave of promotional videos for the protagonists 2B and 9S.
Nier: Automata, the original video game, debuted on February 23, 2017, and has sold 6.5 million copies worldwide. In the future, mechanical lifeforms created by aliens will overwhelmingly invade the earth, and the remaining earth people will flee to the moon. This work uses the robot army “YoRHa” general-purpose combat model “2B” and scanning type. The story between “9S” is the main axis.
Taro Yoko, the game director and coordinator of the animation script, revealed that during the production process, he felt that “it is too boring to follow the game completely”, so he proposed to the animation team to do something completely different from the game (This is yoko), was rejected. In the end, Yoko said: “After watching it now, I think it was great to be rejected by the animation team.”
