Japanese company Nintendo is banning nudity from games with adult content in its own eShop, which it deemed too risque and could “harm the brand”.

Nintendo is best known for its consumer and family games to make the family discover the desire to play. The Nintendo Switch is a very good example when you see the multitude of family games it offers, offering a possibility of more user-friendly games than at PlayStation or Xbox.
In the Nintendo Shop, developers have the opportunity to offer their games and this is particularly the case for certain games that could be described as pornographic. Very adult content which has caused a lot of debate, especially on these games displayed on the home pages, which does not necessarily match the “family” image that Nintendo gives itself. It may well be that in the future this kind of games will be completely removed from Nintendo’s virtual store.
Topless? Rejected
The editor Gamuzumi usually produces adult games on Nintendo’s store in recent years. Among them we can find Elves Fantasy Hentai Puzzle, Beauty Bounce or even Insider Her Bedroom, including its new acquisition Hot Tentacles Shoot which was offered on eShop. However, the title was rejected by Nintendo, stating that they no longer accept uncensored boobs on their consoles.
Basically, obscene content could damage the brand and infringe its policies.

We got a response from Nintendo and now we have confirmation that they don’t allow uncensored boobs on their consoles now. Basically, obscene content could harm the brand and violate its policies. This means that from now on, all games featuring bare breasts must be censored and that is why our game (Hot Tentacles Shoot) was rejected in the first place.

An update
The policy of the Japanese company would obviously have been updated, because before some publishers used to offer adult games on Switch and this had never been a problem. Now, adult games offered by Nintendo’s eShop may soon be censored.
Publishers specializing in hentai will therefore have to censor their games if they want to be able to continue offering them on Nintendo’s hybrid, which to some people is nonsense.
