“Nissan Townstar Combi Goes Electric: Features, Specs and Release Date”

2023-04-16 11:04:24

Like its cousin Kangoo, the Nissan Townstar Combi will offer a 100% electric version. With characteristics necessarily modeled on those of the Renault.

Currently offered with a single petrol unit (it has voluntarily skipped diesel), the Townstar Combi will soon be available with an electric motor. It was predictable, since this Nissan model is an almost exact copy of the Kangoo, which has recently offered a trendy version in its silhouette intended for families. In addition, the Townstar van already exists in electric.

The technical sheet is therefore now well known. Under the hood there is a block of 90 kW, or 122 hp, and under the passenger compartment a 45 kWh battery. Autonomy in the WLTP combined cycle is 285 km, a value just correct for a family model. The Nissan will offer a 22 kW on-board charger as standard. The heat pump will also be fitted automatically. On the other hand, you will have to go through the options to have the 80 kW Combo CCS fast recharge.

This EV version retains a good trunk volume. It even differs from the gasoline version by the arrival of a sliding bench seat. On the other hand, as the seat is higher to slide the battery, once folded down, it forms an impractical step at floor level.

The model will be available to order from June 1st. The range has not yet been detailed. On the other hand, we know an advantage over Renault: a 5-year warranty (or 160,000 km).
