Nkunku, unfortunate scorer for his return

Four and a half months following his last appearance on the pitch, Christopher Nkunku scored for Chelsea this Sunday.

He is back. Came into play at 58e minute in the ranks of the Blues today on the Wolverhampton lawn, Christopher Nkunku found the fault, scoring in added time on a cross from Raheem Sterling (90e+6) – his first ever goal in the English top flight.

Having moved from Leipzig to Chelsea this summer, the French international was injured during summer preparation and had not been able to participate in an official match under his new colors until then. It is now done but not without bitterness for the former Parisian and his London teammates.

It was the Wolves in fact who won this Sunday, sheltered earlier in the game by Mario Lemina (51e) and Matt Doherty (90e+3). A new disappointment this season for the Blues, who are languishing at 10e rank of the English elite, 12 lengths from the European positions and with Wolverhampton now at their level.
