NL Prosecutor’s Office says he died of ‘deep skull contusion’ – El Financiero

The Attorney General of the State of Nuevo León confirmed that the body found in an abandoned water tank, in the municipality of Escobedo, corresponds to that of the young Debanhi Escobar.

Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero Gutiérrez, attorney general of Nuevo León, explained this friday april 22 that the young woman died of ‘deep skull contusion’.

The prosecutor expressed his condolences and said that it is not ruled out no line of inquiry.

“We must emphasize that the place where the body was found previously had an inspection authorized by the owner, in which elements of the Prosecutor’s Office participated,” he added.

The confirmation occurs after the Prosecutor’s Office reported the location of a body a day earlier, adding that the site (a deep cistern with the presence of water) made recovery work difficult.

According to first reportsDebanhi would have accidentally fallen into the cistern while going back to the villa where he had attended a party with two friends on April 9.

The tracking done by the authorities through security cameras showed Debanhi on his way back. However, the trace of him was lost just after the point where the water tank is located.

Escobar was found dressed by the search elements, so it would be ruled out that she was the victim of some sexual assault, although the authorities mentioned that the corresponding tests would be carried out to find out if Debanhi was a victim of femicide or notstressed the source.

Because of his disappearance, Nuevo León authorities arrested Jesús ‘N’, a 45-year-old man identified by residents of the municipality of Salinas Victoria as a stalker, mainly of women.

The Local Commission for the Search of People of Nuevo León even offered a reward of 100 thousand pesos for whoever gave information on the whereabouts of the 18-year-old girl.

Given the disappearance of women in Nuevo León, Governor Samuel García decreed “urgent and extraordinary actions” for the attention to femicides. Garcia ensured that the current Search Group of the Prosecutor’s Office increased its number of troops to 200 to perform that task.
