Tom Boonen and his partner Lore have separated after 20 years together, and have been for some time now. The former cyclist himself announced this rupture in an interview with Humo magazine.
“We’ve been through ups and downs, we’ve been through a lot together, but we’ve also changed a lot during this time – just like everyone else,” Boonen said. “It causes tension. After deciding to put some distance between us, all the pieces of the puzzle miraculously came together. »
The couple, who have twins, Jacqueline and Valentine, born in 2015, still have a very good relationship. “We still go on vacation together, but we no longer live together. Only we don’t shout it from the rooftops. We don’t have to account for that, do we? I’m still old school. Nobody has to interfere with what I do in my private life. »
Boonen adds that he now has a new girlfriend. “Children, family and friends are with us in our story, and that’s more than enough. Lore has always been the woman of my life and she probably still is. I have two beautiful daughters with my very best friend, and we wish each other all the happiness in the world. »
