Today the Cypriot parties filed their nominations for the 2024 European elections,
The deadline for submissions ends 24 hours following the end of the process, while the next step is the printing of the ballots.
The European elections are held every five years. The last European elections were held in May 2019 and in Cyprus will be held on June 9.

Below are all the parties from Cyprus that filed for the 2024 European Elections along with the names of their candidates.
Environmentalists Movement-Citizens Cooperation
The candidates of the Environmental Movement are the Turkish Cypriot Oz Karahan (“Union of Cyprus”), the former deputy mayor of Larnaca from “Aichmi” Petros Christodoulou, the deputy president of the Movement Alkis Papis, the vice president of the Movement Maria Kola, the MP Stavros Papadouris and Vasso Pellegari, member of the central committee of the Movement.
AKEL – Left – Social Alliance
AKEL’s Eurolist consists of the MEPs Giorgos Georgiou and Niazi Kizilgiurek, the economist and former MP Anna Theologu, the internationalist and human rights department head of the party Stavris Kalopsidiotis, the mayor of Deryneia Andros Karagiannis and the actress Melani Steliou.

Active Citizens – Movement of United Cypriot Hunters
With the Active Citizens candidates are the president Nikolas Prodromou, Dmitri Aprashin, Adamos Vrachimi, Lefteris Theodorou, Georgia Konstantinidou and Panagiotis Pilalis.
National Action Movement
Candidates with the Movement are the president Giorgos Nikolaou, Panos Panagis, Stathis Pafitis, Konstantinos Tsangaridis and Charalambos Ttakkas.
Andronikos Zervides
A candidate for the 2023 presidential elections, Andronikos Zervides filed an independent individual candidacy for the European elections as well.
United Democratic Center Union
The candidates are Nikos Anastasiou, Andreas Apostolou, Pantelitsa Yokka, Vivian Kanari, Ilias Myrianthous and Nikolas Filippou.
Democratic Party
Candidate MEPs with the Democratic Party are the MEP Kostas Mavridis, the former MEP, MP and doctor Eleni Theoharous, the Professor of Molecular Virology at the University of Cyprus Leontios Kostrikis, the Prefect of Paphos and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Positive and Applied Sciences Mary Lambrou, the MP Chrysis Pantelidis and the director of the DIKO Press Office Katerina Christofidou.
Volt
Sofia Vassiliou, Lysia Dimitriou, Makarios Drousiotis, Houlousi Kilim, Nikolas-Iordanis Kyriakou and Andromachi Sofokleous are taking part in Volt’s European ballot.
Win
Andreas Nikolaou is the only candidate of the “Niki” party.
COME M
Candidate MEPs with ELAM are Linos Ioannis, Pavlos Ioannou, Geadis Geadis, Polys Anagyriatis and Marios Pelekanos.
Democratic Party – Cooperation of Democratic Forces
Candidates with DIPA are Themis Anthopoulou, Marios Eleftheriou, Marinos Kleanthos, Pantelis Poitiis, Alekos Tryfonidis and Marios Charalambidis.
Party for Animals
The candidate with the Party for Animals is Kyriakos Kyriakou.
Phidias Panagiotou
Phidias Panagiotou is running independently as a candidate.
Democratical Alarm
According to iefimerida, DISY’s European ballot consists of MEPs Eleni Stavrou and Loukas Fourlas, as well as the vice-president of the European Youth Forum Christiana Xenophontos, the former Minister of Health Michalis Hatzipandelas, the former Minister of Finance Konstantinos Petridis and the president of the All Cyprus Association of Hotel Managers Christos Angelidis.
