Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant Issued Against Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan: Latest Updates

Islamabad: The Election Commission has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant once morest former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The order is related to the contempt of court case once morest PTI chief and former minister Fawad Chaudhary that was initiated last year. The warrant was issued following the two politicians failed to appear before the Election Commission yesterday despite repeated warnings. Last year, the Election Commission had initiated contempt proceedings once morest the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief and two former party leaders for using “indecent” language once morest the election observer and the chief election commissioner.

Asad Umar was exempted from the warrant following his lawyer told the Election Commission that his client had another case to attend and a medical appointment to be excused from appearing.

Khan has been facing several cases in various courts since he was ousted from power in April last year.
