The first users began to complain regarding the unavailability of Vodafone services around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. “My phone has no signal at all, nothing has been working for several tens of minutes,” Jakub K. from Prague told Novinky.cz shortly before nine o’clock.
Server DownDetector, which monitors the unavailability of individual services, recorded more than 1,600 reports from Vodafone users within the first hour of the outage. The vast majority of them complained that their phones were completely without a signal, and a fifth of people complained regarding problems with mobile internet.

Directly on the operator’s Facebook, it is possible to find the complaints of dozens of other people, not only from Prague, but also from Olomouc, Beroun, Teplice, Semil, Litvínov or Brno. “Rokycany – no signal or data either,” complained Martina T on the social network.
However, according to Vodafone, the outage only affected some users. “At this time, some customers may have problems with the mobile network or with calling the Customer Care Line *77. We apologize for the complications and we are doing everything to resolve the situation soon,” confirmed Vodafone spokesperson Ondřej Luštinec to Novinky.cz shortly following 9:00 a.m.
Shortly following 10 o’clock, he informed that the outage had already been resolved: “Voice and data services for all our customers are now working. Some customers may have experienced problems today due to a power outage in our data center.”
If some users still have problems with mobile service not being available, they should try turning their mobile phone off and on once more to log in to the network once more.
