GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NDDOT) – North Dakota Highway Patrol has restricted travel until further notice for all permitted oversized loads in Barnes, Cass, Pembina, Steele, Traill, Walsh, Grand Forks, and Pembina counties until further notice due to weather and road conditions. Take notice of changing conditions. North Dakota law restricts travel for these vehicle types when inclement weather causes the vehicle or attachment to swerve, whip, sway, or fail to follow the path of towing vehicle.
Blizzard warning in effect until 6pm Saturday, January 13th including the cities of Cooperstown and Valley City as well as Barnes and Griggs Counties. White out conditions at times with wind gusts of 40 plus mile per hour, creating a wind chill of 50 below zero.
If you have to travel bring a winter survival kit and have your cell phone fully charged.
