Norway: a road bridge collapses, two vehicles fall into the water

A wooden road bridge collapsed Monday morning in southern Norway, plunging into the water, according to reports, a heavy goods vehicle and a car, Norwegian police said. “Reports that the bridge at Tretten has collapsed. A heavy goods vehicle and a private car fell into the water“, said the local police on Twitter.

Unclear how many people may have been involved, unclear if human damage“, she added. All local rescue personnel are mobilized, she said.

Inaugurated in 2012, the Tretten Bridge is a wooden structure 148 meters long and 10 meters wide which crosses the Gudbrandsdalslågen river on a secondary road. It has two lanes for vehicles and a sidewalk.
