The next destination of national soccer team defender Kim Min-jae (26, Fenerbahce) is still in the fog.

Amid the rumors of a transfer to France’s Ligue 1 Stade Ren, Italian professional football Serie A Napoli also entered the race for the last minute.

The Italian version of Sky Sports reported on the 17th (local time) that Naples were seeking to sign Kim Min-jae.

Recently, the team’s key defender, Khalido Coulibaly, is looking at Kim Min-jae and Abdu Diallo (Paris Saint-Germain) as players to fill the vacancy after transferring to Chelsea (England).

Germany’s Gadget Football and others previously predicted his entry into the French league, saying, “Stad Ren has agreed to sign Fenerbahce and Kim Min-jae.” Ren’s proposed transfer fee is said to be 18 million euros (about 23.9 billion won).

However, Sky Sports said, “Kim Min-jae has become close to Ren, but a final decision has not been made yet. Napoli are eager to sign Diallo, but flew to Turkiye (Turkey) Istanbul to bring Kim Min-jae.”

Panatic, a Turkish media outlet, also predicted that “the attempt to sign Napoli will continue until Kim Min-jae’s transfer is officially completed.”

Kim Min-jae, who left Guoan, Beijing, China in August of last year and joined Fenerbahçe, a professional soccer team in Turkiye, played 40 official matches, including 31 regular league matches (one goal) in the 2021-2022 season.

Having established himself as a regular in the team, he is attracting attention from European big league teams such as France and Italy this summer.
