Technology manufacturer Nothing officially announced today, Tuesday (13), the launch date of Phone (2a), its next smartphone aimed at the cost-benefit segment. After a series of teasers, the company confirmed that the presentation event will take place on March 5th, at 8:30 am (Brasília time). The device, which aims to offer high-quality features at an affordable price, will be unveiled during the event, as announced on the brand’s official website and social media.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei, along with the development team, shared details about the Phone (2a) in a video released alongside the announcement. Pei emphasized that the company’s objective with this launch is to attract a new segment of consumers who appreciate the quality of the brand’s software and features, but who are looking for a more affordable option.

The Phone (2a) promises significant innovations, as suggested by tipster Yogesh Brar. The device will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra processor, a notable choice as it will be Nothing’s first cell phone to use MediaTek hardware. In terms of performance, the processor is expected to outperform popular solutions like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, according to benchmarks.

Additionally, the Phone (2a) should feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Photographic capabilities include a dual camera with a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 32 MP front camera. The device will come with 45W fast charging and will launch with Android 14, running the newly announced Nothing OS 2.5 interface.
The speculated price for the Phone (2a) is approximately US$ 400 (about R$ 1,980)a significant drop compared to the previous model, the Nothing Phone (2), which was being sold for US$600 (~R$2,980).

O Nothing Phone (2a) was confirmed in a teaser published by the brand at the beginning of February. The post does not reveal any details about the design or specifications of the device, only confirming its existence. Despite the mystery surrounding the smartphone, a render shared by informant @RealSufiyanKhan shows the possible appearance in relation to the others.
Now, two real photos aligned with the render show the front and back look of the phone. In the photos, it is possible to notice the presence of a hole at the top for the selfie camera, while in the rear area we find a double configuration of photographic sensors, whose resolution is still unknown — apparently, both 50 megapixels.

A 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and a fingerprint reader positioned under the display is expected. Performance must be ensured by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset — octa-core up to 2.8 GHz and 4 nanometer lithography — with the Mali-G610 MP4 GPU and up to 12 GB of RAM.
There is still no information about price and availability, so we just have to wait for new leaks or information from the manufacturer.

O development of Nothing Phone (2a) was confirmed by the company and the smartphone even got a teaser, but without detailing the device’s design or technical specifications. The model should be officially launched in 2024.
The brand highlighted that the Nothing Phone (2a) andis being designed to serve users looking for a variety of features and a “unique, innovative Nothing hardware and software experience” with the Nothing OS interface.
The Nothing Phone (2a) will be an intermediary for the brand and the device should come with some of the features found in the Phone (2). O co-founder of Nothing, Akis Evangelidis stated that the device will be “a clear upgrade on all fronts compared to the Phone (1).”
As has already been said, the specifications Officials are still a secret, but rumors suggest that the Phone (2a) should be based on the platform MediaTek Dimensity 7200 and will have a 120 Hz OLED screen, 50 MP dual rear camera and Android 14 com o Nothing OS 2.5.

The device also has already been certified with support for 45W charging and can come with up to 12 GB of RAM. In terms of design, the cell phone should hit the market with a redesigned Glyph Interface look and with fewer rear LEDs.
Additionally, Nothing announced the “Glyph Developer Kit”, a compilation of software tools designed for developers to integrate control of the Phone (1) and Phone (2) rear LEDs into their applications. More details will be shown in March.
